BJP MP Nishikant Dubey speaks in Lok Sabha

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey launched a scathing attack on Indian National Congress (INC) with his fiery speech in the Lok Sabha in which he accused the Congress of collaborating with anti-nationals and China to divide the country and create anarchy.

During the noon session of the Lok Sabha, the Congress MPs entered the House with Rahul Gandhi, chanting slogans such as "Bharat Jodo Bharat Jodo" and "Rahul Gandhi Zindabad Zindabad".

In response, Dubey who is a Member of Parliament from Godda, Jharkhand stood up and claimed that an article in The New York Times had exposed the "tukde tukde gang" and certain media outlets had joined external forces to engage in anti-India activities.

He further alleged that China was providing financial support to Congress in order to oppose the central government.

According to Dubey, Congress leaders had met with Chinese officials in 2016 to oppose the government led by Narendra Modi leading to a huge uproar from the opposition benches.

Amidst the commotion, the House was adjourned until 2 pm.

Who is Nishikant Dubey?

Nishikant Dubey has been representing the Godda constituency in Jharkhand since May 2009.

He has successfully won the seat in the 2009, 2014, and 2019 elections.

He also holds a Doctorate in Management from Pratap University, Rajasthan on the topic of "Emerging Issue of Rural Poverty".

Dubey was working with Essar as a Director before he decided to take plunge into electoral politics.

He came into limelight with his sharp and controversial speech in Lok Sabha during the ongoing no-confidence motion where he categorised Congress, NewsClick and some other journalists to be linked with China "with an umbilical chord".

His remarks were expunged from Parliament records but later restored on the House website late evening.

As BJP MPs enthusiastically thumped their desks in support, Dubey shouted, "They want to divide India through Chinese forces and some media".

He went on to state, "Between 2005 and 2014, whenever there was a crisis, Congress had received money from China. In 2008, both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were invited. In 2016, they were in talks with the Chinese during the Doklam crisis".

The MP also named Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh and Randeep Surjewala, claiming that the NYT report explained how money was given to Maoists and senior journalists.
