Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has shared two images taken by the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft. The first image, captured by the Lander Imager (LI) Camera, shows a view of Earth. This photo was taken on July 14, the day when the Chandrayaan-3 mission was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

The second image, taken on August 6, was captured by the Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera (LHVC) and showcases a view of the Moon. This camera is installed on board the spacecraft.

ISRO announced the release of these images on its X social media platform. They described the first image as the Earth viewed by the Lander Imager (LI) Camera on the day of the launch, while the second image shows the Moon imaged by the Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera (LHVC) a day after the Lunar Orbit Insertion.

The Lander Imager (LI) Camera was developed by the Space Applications Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. On the other hand, the Lander Horizontal Velocity Camera (LHVC) was developed by the Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS) in Bengaluru, Karnataka. These cameras play a crucial role in capturing high-quality images during the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

ISRO recently shared a video captured by Chandrayaan-3 during Lunar Orbit Insertion on August 1. The video provides a fascinating view of the Moon as seen from the spacecraft.

In another development, on August 9, ISRO successfully performed the third orbit reduction manoeuvre of Chandrayaan-3. As a result, the spacecraft is now only 1,437 km away from the Moon, bringing it closer to its intended destination.
