Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction's buildings and factories business has secured orders worth Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore.

One of these orders is from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association for the construction of a cricket stadium in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The project will be executed on a design and build turnkey basis.

According to media reports, Kashi is soon going to have an international-level cricket stadium. The stadium, which is expected to be completed by the end of next year, will have a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators.

The scope of work for L&T includes various components such as the main ground built as per ICC standards, a display scoreboard, floodlights, corporate boxes, VIP lounges, office areas, broadcasting facilities, press conference areas, kitchen and dining areas, and a practice ground. These features will be incorporated into the cricket stadium project.

The total area being developed for the stadium is 30.67 acres.

The stadium will be operated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) under a long-term lease agreement. The BCCI will assume responsibility for the stadium's operation and management.

India is hosting the ICC ODI World Cup this year from October to November, with matches being played across the country.

The stadiums hosting the games have undergone enhancements to ensure a thrilling spectacle as 10 formidable teams compete for the coveted title.

The company has also received an order from the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority to construct hi-tech IT parks at four locations across Bangladesh.

The project involves the construction of seven-story structural steel buildings with a total built-up area of 1.2 million square feet.
