In a shocking incident reported from Alwar's Ramgarh, a Hindu student was beaten by Muslim students for putting tilak on his forehead in a government high school in Chauma of Rajasthan.

The Hindu student was asked to remove his tilak, and when he refused to do so, Muslim students forcibly removed his tilak and started beating him.

Not just this, the incident escalated to involve relatives of students from both sides. As a result, an FIR was registered under the 143, 323, 341, 506 and 295(a) sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A relative of the Hindu student suffered a fracture in his hand, after which the police took him for a medical test, Navbharat Times reported.

The tilak issue was being raised since Tuesday (25 July) when Muslim students started protesting against Hindu students for putting tilak.

The next day, more Hindu students came to school putting Tilak on their forehead, after which the principal had to intervene to settle the dispute, according to The Lallantop.

Finally, on Thursday morning, a fight broke off involving relatives from both sides. A panchayat was called in the evening to settle the dispute between both groups but it couldn't reach any resolution.

According to local BJP leaders, Rajasthan police registered an FIR only after they put political pressure. Currently, police force is deployed to maintain peace in the area.
