"Will Develop Ujjain Like Haridwar, First Priority To Sadhus-Saints': Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav On Simhasth 2028

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is planning to develop Ujjain like Haridwar where there will be many good ashrams for sadhus and saints in Haridwar.

"We have taken up the task of constructing permanent ashrams for all the sadhus and Mahamandleshwars in Ujjain through the Ujjain Development Authority," he said on Monday (21 October).

He also said that the roads, sewerage and water supply system, which are created temporarily during the Ujjain Mahakumbh, the Simhasth, will be made into permanent structures.

Calling Haridwar 'a model pilgrimage city,' Yadav said that basic infrastructure development for Simhasth 2028 has already begun.

"There will be places for old-age homes, Ved schools, Ayurvedic hospitals and academic centres. But the first right is of sadhus and saints. Doors for development are open," the MP CM said.

"We will direct open space of 4 bighas in a plot of 5 bighas. Only 1 bigha can be used for construction so that there are ample of open and parking spaces," Yadav explained.

He cited that every year 5 crore pilgrims come to Ujjain and hence, these arrangements are needed, he said. A tender has been issued to make the Indore-Ujjain road into a six-lane highway, he said.

Ujjain-Jaora greenfield four-lane highway and connectivity of Ujjain, Indore, Dewas and Dhar are also under construction, the CM said but emphasised on the religious nature of Ujjain.
