"Winnability Main Criteria To Select Candidates" As AAP Decides To Contest All 230 Seats In Madhya Pradesh Elections

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up to contest all 230 seats of the state legislative assembly in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh elections which are due in November this year.

The party is relying on surveys to select candidates and is determined to defeat the ruling BJP, as stated by AAP MLA from Delhi and Madhya Pradesh AAP in-charge, Bhupinder Singh Joon, on Sunday (23 July).

Joon expressed confidence that the AAP would fight for all 230 seats and emerge victorious in the MP Assembly polls. The process of candidate selection is currently underway, and a list of candidates will be released soon. The main criterion for selecting candidates will be their winnability, as determined by the surveys.

He also mentioned that the AAP's "parivartan" (political change) yatras in MP have received a tremendous response, and people see the party as a viable alternative to both the Congress and the BJP.

The AAP aims to form the next government in MP and promises to bring Delhi-like facilities in education, health, power, and water supply for the people once in power.

In the 2018 Assembly elections in MP, the Congress won 114 seats, the BJP secured 109 seats, while the BSP won two, the SP one, and four seats were bagged by Independent candidates.

After the Congress-formed coalition government under Kamal Nath collapsed in March 2020 due to several MLAs crossing over to the BJP, the saffron party returned to power under Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
