The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has put forward a proposal to establish an Agri Export Hub close to Jewar International Airport through a collaboration between Patanjali and Karnataka's Kolar-based Innova Food Park, Hindustan Times reported.

Under the plan, Patanjali has been given the proposal to sublease 50 acres from its existing food park land in Sector 24A to Innova, which would receive multiple incentives to develop the export hub.

According to Yeida’s Officer on Special Duty, Shailendra Bhatia, discussions have been held with Patanjali, but a final decision is awaited.

He noted that the authority chose Patanjali due to its extensive land allocation in Sector 24A and its ability to sublease up to 20 per cent of that land.

The plot, already designated for agro-processing, offers an ideal setting for the proposed export hub, which would also strengthen Patanjali’s ongoing project.

The proposal is reportedly approved by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led UP cabinet and is part of the World Bank and state-funded UP Agriculture Growth and Rural Enterprise Ecosystem Strengthening Project.

The proposed food park will feature advanced facilities for testing, grading, and packaging agricultural produce meant for export.

Situated around 10 km from Jewar Airport’s cargo terminal, it would enable direct export of goods to destinations such as the Middle East, Europe, and Russia, cutting transit time and logistics expenses.

In 2017, the Uttar Pradesh government allotted 430 acres in Sector 24 to the Patanjali Group for the establishment of food and herbal parks.

Out of this, 300 acres were given to Patanjali Food and Herbal Park Noida Pvt Ltd, while the remaining 130 acres went to Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd.

If Patanjali approves the plan, Innova will use the 50-acre subleased land to set up the Agri Export Hub — a move that could directly connect western Uttar Pradesh’s agricultural produce to global markets and position the region as a leading agri-export destination.
