Four Dead, 15 Missing As Flash Flood Washes Away Shops In Uttarakhand's Gaurikund

At least four people died while 15 are missing after a flash flood at a waterfall near Gaurikund on the Kedarnath yatra route in Uttarakhand.
This incident occurred on Thursday night after the flash flood resulted in the sweeping away of three shops.
The Rudraprayag district administration had earlier said nine out of a total of 13 people were still missing after the recovery of four bodies but district disaster management officer Nandan Singh Rajwar later revised the figure of those missing to 15.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel are currently conducting relief and rescue operations.
However, these efforts are being hampered by heavy rains and intermittent falling boulders from the hillsides.
The flash flood was triggered by heavy rainfall in the region.
According to PTI report, the individuals who are missing have been identified as Vinod (26), Mulayam (25), Ashu (23), Priyanshu Chamola (18), Ranbir Singh (28), Amar Bohra, Anita Bohra, their daughters Radhika Bohra and Pinki Bohra, and their sons Prithvi Bohra (7), Jatil (6), and Vakil (3).
Meanwhile, informing about the landslide, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the state government stands firmly with those affected by the calamity, reports WeUttarakhand.
