Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
Ashok Meghwal, the primary suspect in the brutal murder of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, at his Jaipur residence last month, has been apprehended.
Nine individuals have been arrested in connection with the case thus far according to a report from NDTV.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in 31 locations across Rajasthan and Haryana, leading to Ashok Meghwal's arrest.
The raids resulted in the confiscation of numerous illegal weapons, ammunition, digital devices such as mobile phones and DVRs, and incriminating financial documents.
During the operation, eight illegal weapons were seized from Ashok Meghwal, with information about the impending delivery of 22 more weapons obtained during his interrogation.
Meghwal was allegedly in contact with Rohit Godara, a gangster associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who claimed responsibility for the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
The incident occurred on 5 December, when Gogamedi was attacked while having tea with four men at his Jaipur residence.
Two of the men abruptly opened fire, leaving Gogamedi critically wounded and one of the shooters, Naveen Singh Shekhawat, dead. Gogamedi's security guard was also seriously injured during the gunfire.
Rohit Godara, linked to both Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi's gangs, asserted responsibility for the murder on social media.
Godara, who had extorted businessmen in Rajasthan, fled to Dubai from Delhi on a fake passport named 'Pawan Kumar' on 13 June the previous year, and an Interpol Red Notice has been issued against him.
