Chennai Press Club Condemns Threats By DMK Members To Journalists Reporting On Flooding Caused By Cyclone Michaung, Asks CM Stalin To Take Action

The Chennai Press Club in a statement condemned the threats given by functionaries of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK) IT Wing against journalists covering the floods and waterlogging caused by Cyclone Michaung in the city.

The statement called upon Chief Minister MK Stalin to take action against those issuing threats to journalists and stated that this was against the ideal of freedom of speech, which former chief minister M Karunanidhi championed. It added that this was against the values propagated by former chief minister and DMK founder, CN Annadurai.
