Annamalai (L) and Udhayanidhi Stalin
Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has strongly criticised DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's remarks calling for the eradication of Sanatana Dharma and comparing it to the eradication of dengue and corona virus.
Udhayanidhi is the son Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and grandson of former Tamil Nadu chief minister, Karunanidhi.
Calling out the DMK scion, Annamalai said:
"Now Mr Udhayanidhi Stalin and all the DMK people have to understand, Mughals tried [to eradicate Sanatana Dharma], they couldn't do it. East India Company tried, they couldn't do it. The Christian missionaries who only came to southern part of India, specifically to Tirunelveli, to parts of Kanchipuram, Chennai, they tried their best in the late 1800s. They couldn't abolish it [Sanatana Dharma]. Who is Udhayanidhi Stalin to abolish Sanatana Dharma?
"It can never be abolished and it only shows this [DMK] government is essentially anti-Hindu"
