NIA To Take Over Probe Into Petrol Bomb Thrown At Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan: Report

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is going to take over the probe into the throwing of petrol bombs at the Raj Bhavan on 25 October by Karukka Vinodh, who had earlier thrown a petrol bomb at the state headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chennai.

According to a report by Times of India, which cited NIA sources, the agency registered a case on Friday and a petition would be filed before the court seeking the transfer of investigation.

After the incident, the Raj Bhavan issued a statement stating that the police had not registered based on its complaint regarding a petrol bomb being thrown near the gate of the premises. Further, it alleged that the police suo moto diluted the offence to a simple act of vandalism.
