During a special session on Saturday (18 November), the Tamil Nadu Assembly reapproved 10 bills that had been returned by the Governor RN Ravi. The bills, covering various departments such as Law, Agriculture, and Higher Education, were passed during the special sitting.

Chief Minister MK Stalin criticised the Governor's withholding of assent for the bills, calling it an insult to the people of Tamil Nadu and an insult to the Tamil Nadu Assembly. The Supreme Court's observation against the Governor was highlighted by Stalin as the "first victory for this assembly."

The Assembly had convened the urgent session after Governor RN Ravi returned Bills sent to him by the government for his assent. The Supreme Court had expressed concern over the alleged delay in giving assent to bills passed by the Assembly.
