Tamil Nadu: Senthil Balaji's Bail Plea Dismissed By Sessions Court

Principal Sessions judge S Alli, today (20 September) dismissed minister Senthil Balaji's bail petition.

The court had reserved its orders on his bail plea on 15 September, after hearing arguments by Kapil Sibal and NR Elango, who appeared for Balaji and Additional Solicitor General ARL Sundaresan, who appeared for the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

It also extended his judicial custody till 29 September.

The court also said that the medical issues referred to in the bail petition were not of such nature that they could not be taken care of by doctors at the prison hospital.
