Amar Prasad Reddy

The Madras High Court today (10 November) granted bail to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and co-incharge of the En Mann En Makkal padayatra, Amar Prasad Reddy and five other party members in a case for allegedly damaging a JCB machine brought to remove a flag pole outside the house of state president K Annamalai in Chennai's Panaiyur.

His bail plea in the case was earlier rejected by a court in Chengalpattu.

According to a report by ABP Nadu, the judge ordered a compensation of Rs 12000 to be paid to the owner of the JCB.

He further stated that they should submit an undertaking not to put up the flag pole on municipal land again.

Before this, Reddy was granted bail by courts in Ambasamudram and Egmore in cases filed for an altercation with police during the padayatra and pasting a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a photo of Chief Minister MK Stalin that was put up for the Chess Olympiad in Chennai.
