According to a court filing on 4 April, Twitter Inc has merged into X Corp, Slate has reported.
The company made this disclosure in a filing for a lawsuit that is currently taking place.
Laura Loomer, an outspoken right-wing personality, is suing Twitter, accusing the company of violating federal racketeering laws when they banned her account in 2019. Loomer has since had her account reinstated, but the lawsuit is still ongoing.
Twitter is still obligated to submit corporate disclosure statements to the court until the lawsuit concludes, and it had to inform the court about its recent merger.
Currently, Twitter Inc is facing multiple litigations, including one against the entire country of India over censorship issues, vendors complaining about not receiving full payments from Twitter, and former employees claiming that Musk violated labour laws when firing them en masse.
Despite Twitter's apparent transformation into X Corp, there are no updates available in any of these cases.
Following the Twitter takeover in October, Musk announced that he intended to develop an "everything app" named after the letter X, which would "accelerate" the app's creation.
Musk stated that this app might resemble China's WeChat, a billion-user combo of messaging/social networking/payment app, with Twitter's functions playing an essential role in the mega-app.
