Gonda ISI Spy Nexus Busted: Fourth Arrest By Uttar Pradesh ATS In A Month, Objectionable Material Found On Phone

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Tuesday (1 August) apprehended Muqeem Siddiqui (21) in Lucknow on charges of spying for Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and transmitting crucial information to handlers across the border.
This marks the fourth arrest by the UP ATS related to the ISI's spying network in Gonda district within the past month.
Muqeem Siddiqui, a resident of Gonda, was summoned to Lucknow, where he was arrested due to his suspected connections with the ISI.
Special DG, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar, revealed that surveillance and information from informants raised suspicions about Muqeem's activities, leading to his arrest following a preliminary investigation at the ATS headquarters.
ATS officials discovered objectionable material on Muqeem's phone, leading to its seizure, and it will undergo data extraction at the forensic department.
He is scheduled to be taken on remand on Wednesday and will later confront the three other suspects who were previously arrested for alleged spying for ISI. All three of these suspects are originally from Gonda.
The breakthrough in the ISI spying case occurred with the arrest of Mohammed Raees on 16 July. Raees disclosed that he was influenced by an individual named Armaan in Mumbai to work for the ISI.
Subsequently, Raees received a call from a person named Hussain in Pakistan, instructing him to provide photos of crucial military installations in India. Raees complied, sending photos of Babina in Jhansi to his handlers in Pakistan and receiving money in return.
Following Raees's revelations, the ATS arrested Armaan Ali and Salmaan from Mumbai. Based on their questioning, Muqeem was apprehended on Tuesday. The investigation into the ISI spying network continues, with ATS working diligently to uncover the full extent of the activities and those involved.
