In a significant development, former Pakistan Army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa had reportedly told two senior Pakistani journalists that Pakistan lacked the ammunition and economic strength to fight against India.
He also revealed that secret talks were held with India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval in 2021.
Two senior Pakistani journalists, Hamid Mir and Naseem Zehra, during a show said that Bajwa had in 2021 revealed that the talks were aimed at finding a solution for the long-standing Kashmir issue.
He also revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Pakistan was being planned immediately after the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries in 2021.
The Pakistan Army Chief reportedly also admitted that Pakistan had realised that it lacked the ammunition and economic strength to fight India, and that a peaceful resolution was the only way forward.
