External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday (12 April) met with United States Trade Representative (USTR) Katherine Tai to discuss bilateral trade and global situation.
According to a USTR office statement, Jaishankar and Tai took stock of "current developments in US-India trade relations" as well as the implications on global trade and economic affairs of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
They also shared views on US President Biden’s initiative to launch an Indo-Pacific Economic Framework aimed at strengthening regional economic cooperation in critical areas such as supply chain resilience.
Later in the day, Jaishankar also met with the US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
In a tweet, EAM Jaishankar said that he and Raimondo discuseed "accelerating" India-US economic partnership.
"Our goal is to enhance resilience and reliability of supply chains and enhance trust and transparency in business," he added.
