Kim Jong Un arrives in Russia for a meeting with Putin.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Russia early Tuesday morning aboard his personal train for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as confirmed by South Korea's Defence Ministry.
Jeon Ha-kyu from the ministry said, "The Defence Ministry has received information that Kim Jong Un arrived in Russia early this morning using a special train. We are particularly attentive to discussions regarding arms trade and technology transfer between North Korea and Russia, given the presence of many military officials accompanying Kim."
This announcement follows the earlier confirmation from Russia and North Korea about Kim's departure for Russia. The Korean Central News Agency of North Korea reported that Kim left Pyongyang on Sunday afternoon via train.
Experts suggest that discussions will likely encompass arms transactions, particularly as Moscow grapples with Ukraine's counteroffensive in the ongoing conflict.
It is anticipated that Kim may seek food supplies and technological transfers to aid in the production of nuclear missiles, potentially in exchange for artillery and ammunition.
