Pakistan Set To Receive First Shipment Of Discounted Russian Oil As It Continues To Send Weapons To Ukraine

Pakistan will get its first shipment of discounted Russian oil by the early part of May while it provides arms and ammunition to Ukraine against Russia.

Pakistan Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik explaining to Reuters said, "Our orders are in, we have placed that already".

According to the report, Pakistan will buy crude oil from Russia, and the first shipment is likely to reach Pakistan in May through Karachi port. However, these shipments will be of crude oil only and not refined oils.

"Yes it is true that we will be getting only crude, not refined oil," Malik confirmed while hoping the total volume of shipment to reach 100,000 barrels per day, if the first transaction goes off smoothly.

According to the report, Pakistan's Refinery Limited (PRL) will be the first one to refine the oil and will be later extended to other refineries.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to strengthen relations with the US and receive a much-needed International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout, Pakistan continues to send weapon shipments to Ukraine.

Just a day ago, the Economic Times reported that the Pakistani Ordnance Factory has received an order worth $300 million from the UK Defence Ministry for supplying 200,000 122mm rockets.

The rockets will be shipped from the Karachi port and transported to the Ternopil oblast in Ukraine via Polish ports in Gdansk.

Last year as well, the UK had airlifted supplies, arms and ammunition from Nur Khan Air Base Rawalpindi, Pakistan to a Romanian Air Base Avram Iancu Cluj for Ukraine.
