India Likely To Send More Weapons To Armenia In The Face Of Turkish, Pakistan-Backed Azerbaijani Offensive

India is considering the supply of a new batch of military equipment to its strategic ally in the Caucasus, Armenia, following the successful delivery of the first batch of weapons over the past year, reported Economic Times.
A senior Armenian official recently visited Delhi to discuss this matter. India has established itself as a reliable weapons supplier that can fulfill Armenia's requirements.
While the specifics of the new supplies remain undisclosed, observers in Armenia believe that the consignment may include equipment aimed at enhancing Armenian capabilities in the ongoing conflict with Azerbaijan, backed by Pakistan and Turkey.
India's previous consignment to Armenia included Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, anti-tank missiles, rockets, and ammunition. The weapons were reportedly delivered through Iran, a country with historical ties to Armenia.
The supplies had prompted protests from Azerbaijan.
The Pinaka system is essential for Armenia, especially due to Azerbaijan's use of drones, as its 'shoot and scoot' capability allows it to evade counter-battery fire.
Its cost-effectiveness and ease of use make it an ideal choice for Armenia, given its familiarity with the Russian-made GRAD system.
The new weapons delivered to Armenia are currently undergoing testing by the Armenian military, and the results have been 'very satisfactory', as confirmed by Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of Armenia's parliamentary committee on defence and security affairs.
