India's decision to hold a G-20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar in May has irked Pakistan.

The third meeting of G20 Tourism Working Group under India's G20 Presidency will be held from 22 to 24 May in Srinagar.

Opposing the meeting being held in Srinagar, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Tuesday (11 April) expressed its "strong indignation" over the event.

Further, the Pakistan foreign ministry has also opposed scheduling of two other meetings of a consultative forum on youth affairs (Y-20) in Ladakh's Leh and Srinagar, calling it "equally disconcerting".

Terming India's move to hold G-20 events in J&K and Ladakh as "irresponsible", Pakistan said India is "again exploiting its membership of an important international grouping for advancing its self-serving agenda".

"For a country that has a grandiose vision about itself and its place in the world, India has once more demonstrated that it is unable to act as a responsible member of the international community," the Pakistan MFA said.

"Pakistan vehemently condemns these moves," it said.
