Palestine Cleric Calls For ‘Jihad’ Against ‘Cow-Worshipper Hindus’ Over Blasphemy Row

Following massive protests against former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma after her recent remark on Prophet Muhammad, a threat has now come from Palestine, a country more than 4,000 kilometres away from India.

A cleric named Sheikh Nidhal Siam, while addressing a rally at Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa Mosque, said that the only way to teach a lesson to “cow-worshipper Hindus” is by declaring “jihad” to eradicate them. He mentioned India’s neighbour, Pakistan, and said that they have a capable army to teach discipline to Hindus.

A part of his speech from the rally has been shared and translated by MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute) on its verified Twitter account. MEMRI is a non-profit press-monitoring organisation based in the Unites States.

It reads:

“Hindus you filthy Hindus.. Muhammad is the master of all people. Oh Muslims, do you see the infidels' successive affronts and hostilities towards the Messenger of Allah?

“We barely got cleared of France's affronts, when we had to encounter the affronts by Hindus, those cow-worshippers. These affronts are nothing less than a war against Islam and Muslims.

“The infidels take turns in waging this war against the Muslims. First it was America with its aggression against Iraq and Afghanistan, then along came Sweden with its kidnapping of Muslim children.

“France attacked once, the Russians multiple times, then there is China with its crimes, and now the Hindu cow-worshippers, who have destroyed mosques, killed Muslims and destroyed their villages. Now they slander the Master of Mankind, peace be upon him. The one and only reaction to such a thing is to declare Jihad for the sake of Allah and to open up battlefronts for fighting, so that the army can have its say, by disciplining the infidels and polytheists and by eradicating them.

“As for you, oh people of Pakistan, you have a greater duty than others in fighting Hindus. They are right there on your border, occupying parts of your land and killing your people. You have a great army this is capable of disciplining Hindus, making them forget the whispers of Satan."

Past Calls For Jihad

The cleric, also called Abu Ibrahim, is not calling for jihad the first time. In his earlier speeches he has mentioned it as the only solution left for Muslims, be it against women or any other nation, including America.

While criticising an all-women protest in the country, he said on 19 September 2019 that the women protesting were trying to run a “hidden agenda“ and that the “My body, my property” slogan was shameless. He said that democracy, freedom of religion, freedom of expression and property rights contradicted Islam.

An excerpt from his speech, as reported by MEMRI:

“Two weeks ago, a girl from Bethlehem died – or was killed, only Allah knows. In the wake of the incident, many women's groups in Palestine – and more specifically in the West Bank – have exploited this incident to promote their hidden agenda and their covert, unspoken truths. One of their shameless, disgraceful, and flagrant slogans were ‘My body, my property’ and ‘Body and honour are two different things’. What does this mean? They want to send a message to Muslim women that their honour has nothing to do with their bodies, that whatever they do with their bodies has nothing to do with their honour, that honour means having a good reputation, generosity, and lofty moral values, that what women do with their bodies is their personal freedom, and that nobody should interfere in this. This is an evil and criminal premise that is meant to kill the Islamic nation. Through this premise, they want to destroy our societies.”

In the same year while, responding to the role of America and other countries during the Palestine and Israel war, he said that every Muslim constitutes a “time-bomb” and that it would explode as soon as the Caliph of the Muslims gives order to come to jihad.

An excerpt speech from that rally held on 10 May 2019, as reported and translated by MEMRI:

“This Ramadan, the Russian, American, and British ‘devils’ will be shackled. The ‘devils’ know that every Muslim constitutes a time bomb that will explode as soon as the Caliph of the Muslims gives the order to come to Jihad.

"They know your weight. They know your magnitude. You are the reason that they have amassed their planes, ships, and armies in our countries. They have mobilized and deployed these forces in the Arabian Gulf, in the Red Sea, and in the Mediterranean Sea. Do you really think that they did this because of Iran? No! Even the lowliest political connoisseur knows that Iran is nothing but a seal ring on America's pinky toe. Even the connoisseur knows that Iran is drowning in collaboration from head to toe. They have mobilized these forces – according to their statements – in order to prevent the establishment of the Islamic State.

"Soon, we shall convene here in order to pray behind the Emir of the Believers, and he will declare the liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

"Oh Allah, bring that day soon!”
