Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (23 June) interacted with the members of the Indian community at the Ronald Reagan Centre in Washington DC.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi underlined that now is the best time for Indians in the US to invest in India.
“The world has its eyes on India because of you all. And now is the best time to invest as much as possible in India,” the Prime Minister said, reports India Today.
"The research centre for Google's AI in India will work on more than 100 languages. With the help of the Indian Govt, a Tamil Studies chair will be established here at the University of Houston,” PM Modi said.
“All these announcements will help to create employment in India," he addded.
"The Artemis Accord signed between India and the US will provide several opportunities in space research. With NASA, India will send astronauts to space. That is why I said 'Sky is not the limit',” PM Modi said in his address.
He also went on to mention a slew of measures and takeaways that have been discussed and agreed upon during the three days of his official staet visit to the US.
“General Electric’s decision to manufacture fighter plane engines in India will be a milestone in India’s defence sector,” he said, “This new journey (between India-US) is of the cooperation of Make in India – Make for the world".
The Prime Minister also informed that the process for renewal of H1B will be made easier.
"It has been decided that now, renewal of H1B Visa will not require one to move out of America. A pilot project in this regard will be started soon. This will help thousands of IT sector employees here,” said the PM, adding that this will soon apply to L visas as well, reports Indian Express.
