Bengal: An Hour Into Counting BJP Leads In More Seats Than TMC

A little more than an hour into the counting of votes for 2019 general elections, it has emerged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in more seats than the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Bengal.
Polls in Bengal were a very controversial affairs with the BJP accusing the TMC of voter intimidation, poll booth violence and manipulation. Several BJP cadres were injured in the violence preceding the polls.
As of 9.36am, the BJP is leading in 15 parliamentary seats in Bengal, whereas the TMC is leading in 14 seats. The Congress party is leading in one seat.
