Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have organised a National Level Training of Trainer (TOT) programme under the larger banner of the Khelo India Fitness Assessment Programme. The TOT programme targets the teachers of sports/physical education and has been conducted at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi.
The two day training programme is a collaborative effort of the aforementioned institutions and intends to achieve the revival of sports culture among youngsters at grass-root level. Through proper training, they believe that physical fitness can be ensured.
Jammu Sanskriti School is of the belief that it is imperative that the teachers set the precedence by relaying importance on well-being and fitness. Hence, two teachers- Jagpreet Kour and Tanishka Charak, took part in the programme representing the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Daily Excelsior reported. The sports teachers from different states were mentored by master trainers.
Dr Biswajit, Skill Education and Training Director for CBSE, emphasised on the need for remaining physically and mentally fit. Certificates and tracksuits were distributed to the participants.
