Coronavirus Claims Another Life In West Bengal, Total Positive Cases Rise To 26

A middle-aged woman infected with the coronavirus died at a hospital in Howrah late Monday night (30 March) even before her swab test results came in. There more persons also tested positive today (31 March), bringing the total coronavirus infected cases in the state to 26.

The woman, who had been to North Bengal recently, was admitted to a hospital in Howrah with respiratory distress and fever. He swab samples were sent for tests on Saturday morning, but she passed away before the results came in.

There is some confusion over another casualty. The state health department’s latest bulletin says only three persons (including the woman in Howrah) have died so far while the pan-India Covid tracker puts the number of dead at four.
