In remembrance of the former President of India and revered scientist Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, his family has launched a massive plantation drive for a green India, reports Asian News International (ANI).
His family member, Saleem said, "We are observing the fourth death anniversary of the late Abdul Kalam. Although he is not with us, his thoughts continue to enlighten us. He always liked to spend his time with his students and children."
Launching the plantation drive, Saleem added, "We have launched a massive plantation drive where we will plant one crore saplings throughout the state. We will also take this drive to other states as well."
The family visited the memorial of the former President at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu state to pay their tribute to him on his fourth death anniversary. heartily honoured as the 'Missile Man of India', the nation lost Kalam at the age of 83 on 27 July 2015 while he was delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong.
