The Islamic University of Indonesia has decided to include a book on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) into its course as the party's stellar rise and electoral domination over the past two Lok Sabha elections has spiked interest among academicians, reports The Hindu.
The book titled "Bharatiya Janata Party - Past, Present & Future, Story of World’s Largest Political Party" will become a part of the curriculum for undergraduate students of the South Asian studies in the Department of International Relations.
Elaborating the university's decision, a faculty member by the name of Hadza Min Fadhli shared, "We in Indonesia intend to further strengthen our relations with India. Therefore, it is important to understand its ruling party. We expect the BJP would also intend to do the same."
The book has been authored by Shantanu Gupta who has expressed satisfaction over his work receiving international recognition. He has authored five books in total, including a book on the rise of football in India, and also a biography of the incumbent Chief Minister (CM) of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath.
