The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which is the implementing agency of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, on Wednesday (24 April) announced that the design theme of the 508-km bullet train project's Sabarmati station will be based on the Sabarmati river to "honour the significance" of the river.
"Sabarmati River holds a very significant place for the people of Sabarmati and Ahmedabad, it is not only one of the most popular tourist destinations but also a source of water for the city," the NHSRCL said in a tweet.
"Thus, to honour the significance of this famous attraction, the theme of HSR station design over here will be based on a 'Sabarmati River'," it added.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
