In a first for India, the first-ever NBA basketball event is set to take place in the nation's financial and entertainment megapolis of Mumbai today (4 October), reports Asian News International (ANI).
The NBA India Games 2019 had been announced on 12 September. The event shall witness renowned and seasoned NBA teams, Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers playing two games against each other on 4 and 5 October respectively.
The event will take place at Mumbai's SVP Stadium's Dome and will mark the first-ever instance of a North American sports league expanding footprints in India. The event will be reaching fans and viewers from as many as 200 nations via television, digital and social media.
It should be noted that a mention of the NBA event had also been made by President of the United States (US) Donald Trump when he was addressing a crowd of over 50,000 Indian-Americans in Houston at the 'Howdy Modi!' event.
