The combined net hiring at the top four Indian Information Technology (IT) firms, namely Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consulting Services (TCS) and HCL Technologies has reached a seven-year high of 78,500, reports The Economic Times.
Last time the net recruitment at these four companies combined was higher was way back in FY19, when the number stood at 81,722. In fact, in each fiscal year from FY13 to FY18, combined net hiring at these companies remained below 70,000.
Another important number, the aggregate employee base of these four firms stood at 9.6 lakh in March 2019, which was a growth of 8.9 per cent over the previous year. TCS was the biggest employer, making up for 44 per cent of the total employees.
The second spot was taken by Infosys, whose employees made up 23.7 per cent of the total. Wipro and HCL Technologies followed at third and fourth spots with 17.8 per cent and 14.3 per cent respectively.
