The second Covid-19 fatality has been reported from Karnataka. As tweeted by Minister for medical education Sudhakar, Mallika Bai who passed away yesterday has been tested positive for Corona.
The deceased had died on Wednesday night (25 March) while her Corona reports were still awaited. But almost 12 hours after her death, the government has confirmed that her Corona reports have tested positive.
The 75-year-old from Gauribiddanur who had returned from Mecca was being treated at Bowring Hospital and was said to be suffering from diabetes, chest pain and a hip fracture.

The first Corona related death in Karnataka was also a patient from Karnataka. 76 year old Mohammed Hussain Siddiqui, a religious leader from Kalaburagi in North Karnataka was India’s first Covid fatality. Siddiqui had returned to India from a trip to Saudi Arabia last month.
As of Wednesday, the state had seen 51 COVID-19 positive cases which included 1 death and 3 discharged.
