A Sukhoi Su-30 MKI of the Indian Air Force has gone missing after it took off from Tezpur In Assam, Republic TV has reported. The fighter jet reportedly lost contact about 60-km north of air base Tezpur air base.

According to experts, the fighter aircraft could have crashed as it went off the radar. However, at least one expert on Republic TV said that the fighter jet could have landed at one of the multiple advance landing strips located in northeast.
Tezpur’s Salanibari Air force station is located at a distance of 172 km from the China border, 146 km from the Myanmar border and 160 km from the Bangladesh border. The nearest three Airfields in China are almost 350 km away from this base.
