The ruling Trinamool establishment has instructed wedding venue owners to play songs praising Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the party during marriage ceremonies, India Today has reported.
As per the report, wedding halls in Kolkata’s Jadavpur are witnessing less Shehnai music and more pro-Trinamool music during the election season. This is reportedly a result of TMC party workers instructing wedding venues to play songs favouring their party.
The approved music includes Trinamool’s theme song, music praising different projects launched by Mamata Banerjee.
As per a wedding owner, he was instructed to play these songs by the ruling party and did risk defy it. The owner had also informed the wedding guests of this condition while renting out the venue.
Other party leaders have confirmed this action by stating that Trinamool controls the wedding halls in the Jadavpur area, as a result of which owners have a compulsion to obey them.
Similarly during Durga Puja as well various Puja organising committees were instructed by the local police to play songs from Mamata Banerjee’s music album.
