Prime Minster Narendra Modi while speaking on the farm laws and its related topics in Rajya Sabha on Monday (8 February) warned that India needs to be saved from a new kind of FDI - Foreign Destructive Ideology.

"I am seeing that now a days a new FDI has entered the market known as Foreign Destructive Ideology. We have to save the country from it", said Prime Minister Modi.

These comments come in the backdrop of a toolkit shared by activist Greta Thunberg which shed light on the internationally coordinated farmer protests.

Prime Minister Modi also took on professional protesters my terming them as Aandolanjeevis, and warned that India needs to protect itself from such people.

"We are aware of words like Shramjeevi, Buddhijeevi, but I am observing that a new Jamaat has recently taken birth in India known as Aandolanjeevi", said Prime Minister Modi.

"All these Aandolanjeevis are Parjeevis (Parasites)", he added.

Prime Minister Modi also quoted former prime minister Manmohan Singh's pro-farm reform views to state that he is implementing what Manmohan Singh once said.

"There are other rigidities because of the who marketing regime setup in the 1930s which prevent our farmers from selling their produce where they get the highest rate of return. It is our intention to remove all those handicaps which come in the way of India realising its vast potential as one large common market", Prime Minister Modi quoted Manmohan Singh in the Rajya Sabha.

Prime Minister Modi added that he hopes those performing a U-Turn now will hopefully pay heed to Manmohan Singh's comments advocating freedom for farmers to sell their produce and a common farming market.
