The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) said Thursday (18 September) that its flagship Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) 2025 is proceeding smoothly across the country, even as some centers reported minor technical disruptions.

The exam, which began on 12 September and will run until 26 September, is one of India’s largest recruitment drives, drawing more than 28 lakh aspirants vying for Group B and C posts in central government departments.

With its sheer scale, the CGLE remains a crucial gateway to government service for young Indians.

Held in three shifts each day, the test is being conducted across 227 venues in 129 cities.

In a statement, the Ministry of Personnel said that as of Thursday, 5,26,194 candidates have successfully taken the test without major issues.

“The examination process is proceeding smoothly at most centres, and candidates have been able to take their tests without hindrance,” an SSC official noted.

Seeking to make the process more transparent and responsive, the commission has launched a new “Feedback Module” on its website, giving candidates a direct channel to report issues and share suggestions.

Officials confirmed that appropriate action is being taken based on the suggestions received.

The commission has also rescheduled exam dates for about 1,100 candidates who faced clashes with other competitive tests or presented other valid reasons.

In parallel, SSC published notices on 10 and 17 September flagging incidents of malpractice, in what it described as part of its effort to safeguard integrity in the recruitment process.
