"Deliberate, Well-Thought": PM Modi On INDI Alliance's Anti-Hindu Remarks, Says They Don't Speak Against Other Religions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that INDI Alliance leaders "deliberately and repeatedly" insulted Hindu Dharma during his public address in Tamil Nadu's Salem on Tuesday (19 March).

"Their every statement against Hindu Dharma is well thought of. You see, INDI Alliance of DMK (Dravida Munnetra Khazhagam), Congress does not insult any other religion ever," Modi said.

"They don't speak a single word against any other religion. But they don't spare even a second to abuse Hindu Dharma. How is this possible?," he added alleging that INDI Alliance opposed Sengol.

Sengol is a golden stick signifying transfer of power in Tamil tradition and is placed in the new parliament building. "Sacred Sengol is related to Tamil mutts. That's why they deliberately insulted it," the PM asserted.

These remarks come in the backdrop of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's statement in Mumbai rally where he said, "There is a word 'Shakti' in Hinduism. We are fighting against a Shakti."

Since then, Modi has been continuously targeting this statement and said that he accepts INDI Alliance's challenge of finishing Shakti and that he will vest his life in saving Shakti (feminine divinity).

The Congress jumped for damage control by saying that the Shakti Rahul Gandhi was referring to is the control of government on institutions like ED, CBI and Income Tax and EVMs.

However, this does not make sense as Gandhi specifically mentioned about Shakti in Hinduism. You can read more about this pattern of anti-Hindu rhetoric here.
