The Opposition has slammed the Union Budget 2024-25, saying that it focused "more on posturing than action".

The Congress’ statement came after Sitharaman in her budget speech announced that the government will launch three employment-linked schemes.

"After ten years of denial - where neither the non-biological PM nor his party's Lok Sabha Elections Manifesto would even mention jobs - the Union Government seems to have finally come around to tacitly admitting that mass unemployment is a national crisis that requires urgent attention," Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said.

"It's far too late, and as it turns out, far too little - the Budget speech is more focused on posturing than action," he added.

Congress leader and LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi termed the budget as “Kursi Bachao” Budget". He also claimed that the Modi 3.0 budget was a "copy and paste" of Congress Manifesto.

“Kursi Bachao” Budget. Appease Allies: Hollow promises to them at the cost of other states. Appease Cronies: Benefits to AA with no relief for the common Indian. Copy and Paste: Congress manifesto and previous budgets," Gandhi posted on X.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also slammed the budget, claiming "the issues of unemployment, inflation, farmers, women and youth have disappeared" from the budget.
