Lot Of Improvements Required In NTA: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan acknowledged that two kinds of irregularities related to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET) have come to light.

He highlighted that while grace marks were given to 1,500 odd students because of lack of time, some other irregularities were reported from two other places.

He assured students and parents that the Narendra Modi government is taking this seriously and the issue will be brought to a fair conclusion even if senior NTA officials are involved in it.

"Even if the big officials of the NTA are found guilty, they will not be spared. A lot of improvement is required in NTA. The government is concerned about this, no culprit will be spared, they will get the harshest punishment," he said.

The Supreme Court was informed by the NTA on Thursday that the scorecards of 1,563 candidates who received "grace marks" in the NEET-UG exam will be cancelled.

These candidates will be allowed to reappear for the exam on 23 June, with results to be declared before 30 June.

The NTA stated that a committee has been set up to review the results of these candidates who were awarded grace marks to compensate for the loss of time during the NEET-UG examination.
