Sunil Yadav, a notorious drug smuggler wanted in multiple cases in Rajasthan, was killed in a shootout in Stockton, California, allegedly orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The gang’s member, Rohit Godara, claimed responsibility for the murder in a social media post, stating it was an act of revenge for the killing of Ankit Bhadu, a Bishnoi gang shooter, in 2019.

Yadav, originally from the Fazilka district in Punjab, was a major international drug lord who smuggled drugs into India through Pakistan.

He initially operated out of Dubai before relocating to the United States two years ago using a fake passport in the name of Rahul, obtained in Delhi. Rajasthan Police had recently issued a Red Notice against him.

In his post, Godara accused Yadav of tipping off Punjab Police about Bhadu’s location, leading to his death in a police encounter. Godara warned others against leaking information to the authorities, stating, “This is what happens to those who betray us.”

Bhadu, a shooter involved in multiple cases of murder, extortion, and attempted murder, was killed by Punjab Police’s Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) in Zirakpur in February 2019.

According to police reports, Bhadu was hiding in a flat with an accomplice when officers attempted to apprehend him. He tried to escape by jumping from the second floor and taking a girl hostage but was shot and killed in retaliatory firing.

Reports indicate that Yadav was once associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang but fell out with them after Bhadu’s death. Yadav’s betrayal turned the gang against him, culminating in his assassination.
