Railways Loses Around 3,000 Employees To Covid-19, Of Which 98 Were Vaccinated

The Railways has lost 2,952 employees in the Covid-19 pandemic so far out of which 98 had taken the Corona vaccine.
Indian Railways has given appointments on compassionate grounds to family members of many who had died due to the pandemic.
According to the Railways, out of a total of 1,57,496 cases found Covid positive after RT-PCR test, 2,952 Railway employees have died due to Corona disease.
Stating that it has a very considerate approach towards its employees, the Railways has maintained that there is a policy for giving appointment on compassionate grounds to dependents of railway employees who lose their lives in the course of duty or die in harness or are medically incapacitated.
As per the Railways data, 98 of the 2,952 deceased Railway employees were vaccinated.
Dependents of family members of Railway employees who lost their life to Covid-19 are covered under the scheme of compassionate ground appointment. Settlement dues have been paid to the families of the deceased Railway employees in 2,857 cases.
However, despite the pandemic, the Railways has continued carrying passengers and goods all over the country.
