Chief Minister MK Stalin is likely to visit Delhi on 28 April (Friday) to meet President Droupadi Murmu.
During the meeting, he is expected to raise the issue of time-bound assent to bills passed by the state Assembly and speak about the issues his government has with Governor RN Ravi.
Earlier this month the DMK government had got a resolution passed in the state Assembly urging the central government and the President to prescribe a fixed time limit to Governors to give assent to bills.
The DMK has been at loggerheads with Governor Ravi on a number of issues like the online rummy bill and his statements regarding Sanatana Dharma and the Tirukkural.
According to some political commentators, the visit would be keenly watched because it comes amidst the income tax raids on G-Square, a company alleged to be closely linked to the DMK first family (the company issued a statement denying the links after the raids commenced).
It also comes at a time when the party is under scrutiny after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai presented the DMK Files and released an audio alleged to be that of Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan in which the voice talks of 'money management' and 'spoils.'
