Dear readers,
Did you know that Karē raisu, or curry rice, a popular Japanese dish, has an interesting link to an Indian revolutionary? Yes, you read that right!
Why it matters: Rash Behari Bose, a revolutionary from West Bengal, played a key role in India's struggle for independence.
Known for his daring plans against the British and his ability to evade capture, Bose was a master of disguises and a true patriot.
In fact, it was Rash Behari Bose who invited Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to Japan and passed the baton to lead the Indian National Army.
The twist: After fleeing to Japan, Bose found refuge at Nakamuraya bakery in Tokyo, where he introduced authentic Indian curry. His spicy version of Karē raisu became a sensation and remains a bestseller to this day.
Take the quiz: The Rash Behari Bose Quiz is now LIVE on our mobile app and is available through this this link.
It has just 8 questions. And if you complete the quiz, you might stand a chance to get a Swarajya merch free
Apart from that, this is a great time and chance to familiarise yourself with a national hero who was often forgotten until recently.
