India's coal production saw an 11.66 per cent increase in November 2022, reaching 75.87 million tonnes (MT) from 67.94 MT during the same month last year, according to the Ministry of Coal.

Of the top 37 coal-producing mines, 24 produced more than their full capacity, and five produced between 80 per cent and 100 per cent of their capacity, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday (6 December).

Meanwhile, overall power generation in November 2022 was 14.63 per cent higher than the previous year.
