Bharatanatyam dance, Carnatic music, Tamil folk music, Nadaswaram music concert, Thevaaram thiruvaasagam in Tamil music form, debate on Kamba Ramayana, Villu-paattu, Bommalaatum, Silambaattum, Kaavadi Attam, Karagam, Pattimandram, Tamil folk dances Karagattam, Poikkal Kuthirai, Thappaattam, etc., have been planned across different locations in Varanasi.

The Sangamam will be held over a period of one-month, i.e., from 16 November to 16 December.

It is proposed to bring common practitioners of these knowledge streams from Tamil Nadu to Varanasi so that not only experts but they also benefit from the cultural exchange.

Welcoming the announcement of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, BJP Tamil Nadu State President Annamalai tweeted that the initiative would help in realising the vision of Ek Bharat, Shreshta Bharat.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the event would act as a great medium for non-Tamils to understand and experience Tamil cultural heritage and vice versa.
