A incident of fire was reported onboard the Indian Navy's Delhi class destroyer — INS Mysore — at Naval Dockyard at Vishakhapatnam.

The Navy's handle further tweeted, "The fire was brought under control by the ship's staff with the assistance of the dockyard staff. No loss of life or casualty has been reported".

An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.

This comes after last year on July 2022, INS Vikramaditya reported a fire which delayed the aircraft's carrier rejoining the fleet by six months.

Interestingly, Vikramaditya has become a fire magnet for quite some time. Earlier in May 2021, it reported a minor fire incident. No casualties were reported.

In 2019, Vikramaditya suffered another fire in which a young Naval officer was killed while dousing the fire.

This has led many to refer to the aircraft carrier as a "garage queen", much like Russia's Kuznetsov carrier.
