Made-In-India QRSAM To Be Tested Again In April This Year As DRDO Fixes Glitches Identified By Army

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will again test fire a Made-In-India Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) in April, after fixing some minor glitches, reported The Hindu.
The QRSAM is a quick-reaction SAM to shoot down fighters, helicopters and cruise missiles at a maximum range of 25-30 km.
The system can search and track a target while on the move and fire in short halts. All the subsystems and components are designed and made in India.
The QRSAM was last tested in September 2022, when six successful test firings were reported by DRDO, in the final deployment configuration.
However, The Economic Times has reported that some deficiencies were found in the trials and QRSAM's delivery might get delayed.
The Hindu report states that the deficiencies described in the report have now been fixed and another set of trials will now be conducted in April this year to verify the changes.
The QRSAM is designed primarily to provide air cover to Indian Army’s offensive formations, that will strike deep into enemy territory.
