Union Budget 2023
Tamil Nadu is among the states that would see an increase in their share of central taxes compared to last year, according to the figures stated in the budget.
According to this article, while the state government had expected Rs 33,311 crore in its budget for 2022-2023, it received Rs 38,731 crore according to the Revised Estimates of the Union Budget.
The amount estimated for 2023-24, i.e., Rs 41,664 crore, is higher than that of the Revised Estimate for 2022-23 by seven and a half per cent.
Apart from the increased share in central taxes, the state would also benefit from provisions not made specifically for Tamil Nadu, like the extension of the 50-year interest free loan to states for increasing capital expenditure.
